Maryland CEE: Teaching Fiscal Policy

Webinar: April 8th - 4:00 pm ET

This training provides teachers with all the FREE tools (including engaging videos and interactives) they need to teach fiscal policy effectively. Perfect for anyone teaching Macroeconomics or US Government–the content reviewed, while at an appropriate level for an econ class,  doesn’t require either the teacher or the student to have any particular background in economics.

Key topics covered:

  • Federal Government Revenues: Where does the government’s money come from, and how has this changed over time?
  • Federal Government Expenditures: How does that money get spent?
  • Fiscal Policy: The Best Case Scenario: How changes in taxes and spending can (theoretically) help to steady the economy
  • Limits to Fiscal Policy: Why fiscal policy interventions often don’t work out as planned

This webinar is sponsored by the Maryland Council on Economic Education and the Maryland Council for the Social Studies. Maryland teachers, MRU will share your registration/attendance information with MCEE and MDCSS.

Can’t make the training? No problem! Register anyway; we’ll send you the recording the day after the training.
